Master’s Degree in Gerontology Admission Requirements

To qualify for our MS in gerontology program, domestic applicants must have the following:

  • A prior bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctoral degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a degree deemed equivalent by the UF Office of Admissions.
  • An upper-division GPA of 3.0 (“B” grade) or higher.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • A resume/CV and statement of purpose.

Pursuant to Florida Statute, your application requires inclusion of all post-high school education and employment, as well as information about ongoing international affiliations and research funding. Please ensure this information is included on your curriculum vitae (CV) or résumé.

Master’s Degree in Medical Physiology and Aging Admission Requirements

To qualify for our MS in medical physiology and aging program, domestic applicants must have the following:

  • A Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from one of the institutional accreditors (or four-year international equivalent) found at https://admissions.ufl.edu/apply/graduate/accreditation.
  • A strong science foundation with a minimum of five full semesters of courses related to biology, chemistry and/or physics.
  • An upper-division GPA of 3.0 (“B” grade) or higher.
  • Official transcripts from every college or university attended.
  • Resume/CV.

Graduate Certificate Admission Requirements

To qualify for our graduate certificate program, domestic applicants must have the following:

  • A prior bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctoral degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a degree deemed equivalent by the UF Office of Admissions.
  • An upper-division GPA of 3.0 (“B” grade) or higher.
  • A resume.

Non-Degree Admission Requirements

To enroll in online courses as non-degree seeking students, domestic applicants must have the following:

  • A prior bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or doctoral degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a degree deemed equivalent by the UF Office of Admissions.
  • An upper-division GPA of 3.0 (“B” grade) or higher.

International Admission Requirements

In addition to meeting the minimum requirements of their chosen program, international applicants must:

  • Submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or another English language skills test approved by the Graduate Council.
  • Submit official copies of transcripts and graduate credentials from each previously attended college or university in the native language they were issued in. Applicants must include exact English translations of their transcripts with their submission. Please note that diplomas will be returned to applicants once an admission decision has been reached.
