Online Graduate Programs in Gerontology
Did you know that in 1920, only one out of every 20 people was 65 or older? That number has increased exponentially in the past 100 years. In 2020, one in six people in the U.S. were age 65 and older, for a total of 55.8 million older adults: a whopping 16.8% of the population. By the year 2034, that number is projected to reach 77 million.
With the number of older adults increasing each year, there’s also a growing need for gerontologists and geriatricians to help ensure their well-being.
